The Whiskey Sour is made in different ways around the world; however, the classic is one of my faves. The thought of an egg white used to freak me out, but it makes it truly makes the Whiskey Sour. Here is the classic Whiskey Sour recipe:

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Whiskey

  • 1 Egg white

  • 1 oz Fresh lemon juice

  • 1 oz Simple syrup

  • 1 Orange peel

Directions

  • In your shaker, add the whiskey, egg white, syrup, and lemon juice.
  • Shake well with no ice to create a foamy texture.
  • Add ice and shake again to cool down the mix.
  • Double strain it in your cup with no ice.
  • Squeeze the oils from the orange peel and run it around the rim of the glass.
  • Add it to the glass for a pop of color.

Bourbon stole my heart a few years ago when I had several opportunities to write about it. Food stole my heart when I was lucky enough to be raised by a mom who managed to make nearly everything from scratch when we were growing up.
