Prosciutto Apple Bites

These delightful prosciutto apple bites are a perfect combination of sweet and savory flavors. Ingredients

  • 2 large 2 apples (such as Red Delicious or Honeycrisp)

  • 10-12 slices 10-12 of prosciutto

  • 4 oz 4 provolone cheese, cut into small chunks

  • freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp 1 olive oil

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 balsamic glaze

  • fresh basil leaves, thyme or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

  • Wash the apples thoroughly and slice them into thin wedges, about 1/2-inch wide.
  • Cut the provolone cheese into small chunks that are approximately the same size as the apple wedges.
  • Take a slice of prosciutto and a slice of provolone cheese and apple wedge at the bottom end. Roll the prosciutto around the cheese and apple. Repeat with the remaining apple wedges, prosciutto slices and cheese chunks.
  • Arrange the bites on a serving platter. Drizzle with olive oil and serve with balsamic glaze for dipping.
  • If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves, thyme or parsley for a pop of color and flavor.
