You’ve tried the gin and tonic; now try the Empress and Tonic. There is much to love about Empress gin, including the refreshing, balanced flavor and the beautiful color. Truly, why would you want a clear gin and tonic when you could have indigo? I discovered the light cocktail a few years ago and found it is the perfect spring/summer drink. What I really love is that it doesn’t make me feel full or bloated the way some drinks do. Now that I have discovered Empress 1908, it’s the gin I turn to for flavor, and for the times I want to impress with something pretty. And if you’re serving a crowd, this is a super fast and easy cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Empress 1908 gin

  • 3 oz. tonic water

  • 1 grapefruit slice

Directions

  • Mix in a glass with ice
  • Garnish with grapefruit

Bourbon stole my heart a few years ago when I had several opportunities to write about it. Food stole my heart when I was lucky enough to be raised by a mom who managed to make nearly everything from scratch when we were growing up.
